I am so exhausted. I’ve been tired for two weeks. The end of the school year is so demanding combined with life! Ugh.

Well, it’s 10:30 at night and I just got my 10,000 steps. I joined two challenges this week so I felt like I couldn’t stop at 8,500. So I just did a Leslie Sansone walking video at 10:15 at night.

Today was fun and long and I am ready for sleep. We had our Miami Valley teachers banquet for Catholic Schools. People are honored for their time teaching, and two of my high school teachers who are the heart and soul of our school got recognized. One for 40 years of service and one for retiring this year after 41 years of service. Here is a pic of me with them:

It was a fun night. But a long day. 💤💤💤💤💤

Well, I didn’t lose all of the 2.6 I gained last week, but I came pretty darn close. And I got back past the 30 lb threshold, and in the “new numbers,” that I had reached. All of those things make me very happy.
Almost as happy as my Monday night treat. First Communion Cake from Beth FS. I have been looking forward to it all day. 🎂🎂🎂🎂
I had a good workout tonight. I did 30 minutes of the regular low impact aerobics I normally do and 55 minutes of Body Pump. I’ve been experimenting with upping my weights and I can really tell. And I can tell my lunges and squats are getting a tinge better. I still have a long way to go, but I am headed in the right direction.
Tomorrow night I have a teacher banquet and I have no clue what the food will be so I have to eat lean during the day to save room. And they always have dessert. I will try to pass on the dessert unless it is something I really love. The dinner is usually some sort of stuffed chicken that I have no clue what is in it so I usually just guess. I’d like to say I will pass on the rolls but I know I will be so hungry by then that I won’t be able to resist. So, I am going to load up on protein for breakfast and lunch. The banquet is a teacher recognition one and if you’ve been teaching 5, 10, 15, 20 or 25 years they say your name and you stand up and get a certificate from your principal. This is my 15th year.

So, I was thinking that I had a lazy Sunday because I did spend a considerable amount of time on my couch. But then there’s this…

53 active minutes! Over 11 K steps!
I can tell you those active minutes were with Henry on a few walks, and running with him in the back yard. Also, going up and down the steps to do laundry.
I really enjoy being able to keep up with Henry and run and jump, and play around and not feel like I am going to die. Nonscale victory #1 today.
Also, the weirdest thing happened last night as I was getting ready for the fundraiser I mentioned. All of my jeans were too long/big. I only have one pair that hangs right. And I thought to myself today… I might actually have to start drying my jeans in the dryer! I haven’t done that in ye… Well actually, I don’t know that I’ve ever dried my jeans. So, there is non scale victory #2!
Henry and I stopped at a First Communion party so he was late to his nap after a hard partying morning and early afternoon. He went down for his nap at 2:30 and he looked like this…
Almost three hours later at 5:25 I went up to wake him up and he was still in this exact spot. But I did not want to be up really late. He is just now falling asleep. 😒
This summer I need to get him on a schedule of going to sleep at 8:00-8:30. I can’t believe how soon summer will be here. Woo hoo!!!

Tonight I went to a fundraiser I go to every year in honor of my friend Amy’s Aunt Jill called “Dance to Save the Tata’s.” It is super fun and it raises money for breast cancer research. We dance the night away which was awesome because look at all of those steps!!!
And it was the first time in at least a decade that i saw a picture of my full body and I looked like a normal person. I mean, I am still very overweight, and have a lot to lose. I am not delusional. But, when I look at this picture, I don’t hate myself.

And that, is progress!

Man oh man. I feel completely overloaded. The end of the school year brings lots of demands and evening events. Spring lends itself to more social events. And I am tired.
So, I am trying to do all of that and still be a good mom, friend, daughter, wife, and teacher- oh, and also not fall of the path of my journey to health and fitness. And I feel on the brink right now, today. Maybe not tomorrow, but today I am feeling like I wanna eat all of the food and sit on my butt.
That is why I am doing everything I can to make it to all of the gym classes I can despite my other obligations. And it feels good to hold onto that commitment. Because the reality is, that is how life goes and I need to learn to navigate through all of the seasons, all of the stresses…
So, forgive me if I am neglecting you. I promise it’s only temporary.
Here’s hoping I only drink tea tonight and don’t have any snacks! I am out of calories. 😳😩

Ok, here’s to a successful weekend! I have two social events… One is a dancing event, so hopefully I burn more calories than I eat. The other is a first communion party. Wish me luck!! ☺️

I love Tuesdays because I get to just chill with my bug and my parents after school. Not much to report today. I packed my planned lunch but then remembered they had leftovers from the fundraiser in the teacher’s lounge. So, I ate those and stayed at 590 calories. It was more than my packed lunch so I cut out the yogurt snack I was going to have. And now I have my lunch already packed for tomorrow! That’s like 10 minutes saved in the morning. Now that I typed that out loud I realized I should probably pack my lunch the night before every day. Hmmm. I could probably manage that for the 24 days I have left of school!!!!

Ouch. Not a good week. And I knew it. And I wasn’t gonna weigh in. But, I did.
I know I’ve made the right adjustments prepping for this week, let’s just hope I follow through and can lose what I gained plus a little bit more.
I can’t dwell on it. And I feel smaller inch wise, and I’ve started to get compliments from people who didn’t know I was on this journey.
I am doing the right thing. And I am going to stay the course.

Man, Alive! I don’t drink alcohol very much any more, and now I know why! I am so tired today. This was only the second or maybe third time I’ve had more than one drink since January 11th. I am disappointed because it was such a gorgeous day. But, I had fun last night, and I guess that’s what matters.
Even through my exhaustion I meal planned, grocery shopped, and meal PREPPED, too! I have my breakfast and lunch for the week.
Baked Oatmeal (a new recipe, I will let you know how it is before I share it!)

Henry is sleeping at my parents, and while I will miss him like crazy I am enjoying my relaxing evening. I got all of my recipes in MyFitnessPal and tracked. I cleaned the kitchen, and am ready for my busy week.

Well, this week was not great calorie and exercise wise. I almost always used a big chunk of my exercise calories and yesterday I just ate what I wanted and tracked last night and whoa nelly! We had a fundraiser at school and I had a blast. As well as a lot of Chardonnay. 😬
Today I am meal planning and grocery shopping. I think I am going to do a quiche breakfast. And I am going to look up a recipe for a soup or chili to make for lunch. And I am going to make a few meats for dinners and buy some simple sides.
My goals:
Get to gym Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. (Maybe Friday, but I doubt it as I am chaperoning a dance at 6:00)
Snack only one-two nights after dinner not including Monday. I always save a lot of calories for Monday night.
Meal plan and prep.
Get my 10,000 steps every day.
Weigh/Measure all food. I got a little lazy with that this week.
