-2.8 lbs this week, -28.0 total

Well, it wasn’t a perfect week, but I’ll take the loss, because honestly, there aren’t gonna be any perfect weeks. I’m happy to be heading back down on the scale. I bought a blue tooth scale and I really like it. I got a knock off of the Fitbit scale for 59.99 as a Christmas present to myself. I like how it syncs with my Fitbit and MyFitnessPal. Even though I am not currently tracking on MFP, I still go there every day.

I came home from school and did a half an hour workout from the 21 day fix video. I actually got up this morning at 4:50 am and went to the gym at 5:00 am. It was icy out and our instructor flipped her car on the way to the  gym.  She is fine, but instead of staying I went home because I don’t like driving in ice and I figured we would have a two hour delay, which we did. So I went back to bed until 8! Ha ha. I’m not beating myself up if I miss a morning workout as long as I get it in some how. I’m gonna schedule my workouts week by week depending on the schedule. Like, next week I will be able to do body pump Monday night so I won’t go to the 5:15 am class on Tuesday, but I will go on Thursday. My goal is 3 body pumps a week, and 2-4 cardio workouts.  I feel like the exercise part is something I conquered in 2016 and am continuing this year. It’s the eating I am still struggling with on a daily basis.

I made a delicious snack after school. I am obsessed with berries in a frying pan fried up with about 1/2 tsp of butter and 1/2 tsp Splenda brown sugar. It’s so good. And I had it mixed with 0% Fage and a smidge of vanilla extract. Unfortunately I also ate these muffins I bought Henry and I was honestly having a conversation in my head about not tracking them. Like, who am I trying to fool when I think about things like that?!?!? So I counted it all and let’s just say my evening is going to be lean. 😳

I ate the snack so fast, this is the only picture I got.

Well, it’s Tuesday, and this weekend is a three day weekend. So, there’s that. 😉

Saturday Morning

Good Morning!

It’s my favorite time of the week. It’s Saturday morning and I’m drinking my coffee, catching up on blogs, working on our budget (my new obsession).  I’ve had a great WW week. I didn’t go crazy with my points and I have tons of fit points. Although, I totally failed with my morning workouts, I did get up earlier for work. So, I am hoping next week is my week. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Today I am going to the gym for 10 am body pump and my 11 am rocking to the oldies, which is such a fun class. It’s not too challenging but I usually burn between 400-500 calories and get 3000+ steps. And most importantly, I have fun! Other than that I hope to straighten up the house and clean out the kitchen junk drawer. I am doing this organize one thing a week challenge I’ve had in my household binder for about 4 years. It gives you one manageable task a week.

I also have to go to the grocery store for a few things. We have a lot of stuff right now but need a few various items to get us through the week. I need to choose what I am having for lunch this week. Hmmmm….

I started an instagram for the blog called the2beths. I plan on posting food, fitness, and progress pics. So far, it’s only food! Hahahaha.

My friend, Beth (the other Beth) got me this for Christmas, and it just came in Monday. I am totally savoring it. I don’t want it to end.
Have a great weekend everybody!

Happy New Years!

Hello, friends. I hope you all had a Happy New Year! I’ve had a wonderful break with my family and friends. I’ve been working really hard preparing for my New Years Resolutions.

1. Follow Dave Ramsey budget using his baby steps, his budget software and his philosophies. I cleaned out my filing cabinet, shredded all old documents and came up with a new filing system. I got the budget software called Every Dollar that aligns with Dave Ramsey. I am happy with the prep work I did.

2. Give myself the gift of an early morning wake up and work out. This will be very challenging for me, but ultimately I know it’s the right thing for me.

3. I joined Weight Watchers online last Tuesday and my goal is to stick to the program and blog my progress. My weigh in day is Tuesday. This first week I just logged to see what the smart points were but tomorrow I start! I am so ready.

4. Take care of myself, and be a little more vain. I know that sounds weird but I think it translates to being a bit more confident and taking pride in myself.

5. Go to church at least twice a month and bring Henry at least one of those times. I would like to go every week but I have to be realistic with my expectations, and hope to exceed them.
I know it’s a lot but they are all things I want to improve or continually work on in this new year. I am excited about 2017 and hope it’s the best year yet!!!

PS I’ll leave you with a picture of me wearing my tiara from high school while I was cleaning.

New Years Eve

Today is New Year’s Eve which is also my dad’s birthday. Family legend has it that my grandfather made my grandma drink castor oil so she would go into labor before the end of the year. That way, they got the tax refund but no expenses for the actual baby that year. 😂😂

And it worked!

I am relaxing on the couch with my boys. I’m drinking coffee and working on some banking. We are going hard core this year. I feel like it took me a year to get a handle on the Dave Ramsey program. And now it’s time to have that “gazelle intensity” he speaks about. I’ve been listening to his podcast as I clean out my files and do tons of shredding. I am ready to be DEBT FREE!

I signed up for Weight Watchers online on Tuesday knowing I wouldn’t be having that great of a week. I haven’t done any meal prep, planning or shopping. But I wanted to get familiar with Smart Points. So I’ve used a LOT of those. I am at -132 or something. 😂😂😂 I also haven’t been to the gym a lot because my mom is out of town. But I worked out at home and or the gym through Wednesday and I am going to do a home workout today when Henry naps. It’s really important to me to work out today. It’s a big accomplishment for me to have worked out the whole year.

I am really motivated this year (2017) to lose a big chunk of weight. I think I have a good plan in place. I am really going to use all of the tools Weight Watchers has in place. I know at some point I will want to quit but I am hoping to stay focused.

I hope everybody has a fun and safe New Year’s. We are just hanging out at my house tonight and watching the Ohio State game.

It’s been a good Christmas break. I’ve made some progress on things I wanted to get done. 2017 is going to be the year I get rid of a bunch of excess stuff that is weighing me down. I got rid of a ton of stuff yesterday that I’ve been holding onto for years, such as bridesmaid dresses, ACT scores, books about baby sleep, old tacky frames… and much much more.

Here are some pictures of my bug and me.

Christmas Blessings

This was how our Christmas Day ended.

It’s been 24 hours of family and fun. I made sure to take in as many moments as I could with my bug. I stole a kiss whenever I could, and my heart melted every time he said, “Mahwee Cwistmas.”  I loved watching him realize what presents were and that he got to open them and keep them.

We are looking forward to chilling out tomorrow. I’ve got lots of stuff to do around the house but nothing too stressful. My main priority is to eat healthy and go to the gym. I really indulged today. Currently I am drinking water like crazy so I don’t feel like crap in the morning.

I got lots of great stuff for Christmas.  Craig got me a new robe which I needed desperately. My parents gave me makeup and money which were both things I needed and wanted! My mother in law got me really cute jeans and a sweater and shirt and some other things. But my favorite were these boots. They are what I call a non scale victory because I have never been able to wear these boots – even the wide calf ones- which is what these ones are. They are from Lane Bryant. And they fit!!! And I like them.

I am glad I am not a January joiner, but I am also glad for January to refocus my weight loss. I would like to lose a significant amount of weight in 2017. I know I need to focus on my diet. And I feel willing to do that.

(Also, ignore my messy room! It was Christmas central.)

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! 🎄🎅🏻

Holiday Strategies

Well, yesterday was my last day of school before break. I hadn’t strategized that day at all. So, I ended up going off the rails. Pizza and cookies for lunch. Cupcake snack. Hot head burrito dinner and more cookies. And then I ate more crap when I got home. Ugh.

So, I had all of these sweets for baking last weekend, and I got a lot of sweets yesterday. With the exception of a few things (Like my apple, Becky- it has fruit in it!!! Ha ha) I had Craig take it to work today. It was a hard choice but I know ultimately I would end up eating every single piece of candy and I don’t need that.

Today my Henry, my mom and I are gonna do some last minute shopping and take Henry to see Santa. Then I can do my wrapping tonight and tomorrow and be all ready!!! I still haven’t sent out my Christmas cards, though. I am waiting on the post office to deliver my stamps. Is that irony?

I am loving my morning with my Bug. He slept all night until 7:25. It was glorious. I needed the sleep.

I am still nauseous and I am wondering if it’s my new medicine. I am waiting for the doctor’s office to call me back about another issue with my injection schedule for the medicine (it’s for my psoriasis) so I will ask them when they call back.

My mom and Henry came to school yesterday.

He took right to my buddy, Maxwell. And Sara is the girl in the picture and they are buddies from way back because her mom is Henry’s godmother!

Have a great Wednesday!!!

Sick

Well, it turned out to be some sort of stomach virus. I didn’t throw up but I felt like I would all day yesterday and this morning. I had persistent nausea all day and last night and this morning. I called in to work this morning which I *hate* doing!!! But I know I was too sick to be at work. After Craig and Henry left this morning I promptly went back to bed for another 2.5 hours. I woke up feeling a lot better. I still have mild nausea but not debilitating. I’m just gonna take it easy, finish my Christmas cards, do a few loads of laundry and take a shower for the first time in two days! I may make the soup I planned on making on Sunday but I am not sure yet. I have to brown beef and sausage  for that and right now that turns my stomach to think about.

So, tomorrow is my only day of work this week which is kinda nice. I am really ready for Christmas break. And I am super happy we have little to no plans besides Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

I hope you are all having a great Monday!!

Edited to add: Kinda funny, but apparently a stomach virus is what I needed to drop the scale!!! Ha ha ha

Food Hangover

Ugh. Yesterday was my indulgence day and I ate a lot of food. And a lot of not good for me food. I didn’t end up going out of town because the weather was really bad. But, I still had my indulgence day. And I am paying for it this morning. I think back and I used to feel like this on most days because I used to eat like I ate yesterday more times than not. Yuk. I am glad I don’t do that any more and I am glad to be back on plan today. I need to drink a ton of water. 🤢

Sundays are pretty great when you know you only have a two day week ahead of you. And you get to spend it with this boy:

I am making a creamy vegetable soup today for my lunch this week. The egg muffins I made last week for breakfast really filled me up but it was too hard for me to choke them down in the morning. I don’t know what it is. But I have a hard time with eggs. I like them but I just can’t eat them in the morning.

I hope everybody has a great Sunday!

Saturday Morning

Good morning! Weekends are the best, especially when you only have a 2 day work week in front of you. I am so ready for break. I am ready to spend some quality time with my bug!!!

I also wanna focus on my fitness during that time. I’ve given myself three days that I can splurge and all the rest should be regular days.  The days are tonight at my aunts, and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Other than that we don’t have major plans so I should be able to stay on track. I hope I can get more workouts in because I won’t be working and Craig is off for a week! He usually isn’t off over Christmas so this is very exciting.

The other thing I wanna do over Christmas is clean out my shit. Still. It’s a work in progress. There is so much I wanna sell, donate, and throw away. But one of my main focuses is to get a bunch of paper shredded and clean out my files and continue on our budget but a little more hard core. We have been lax lately and also we weren’t following it exactly throughout the year. It was more of a loose interpretation.

I have stayed the same on the scale yet again. I am still eating too much but not binging so that is good. I also haven’t been doing my body pump or any very challenging workouts. However I am not beating myself up because as January 1 approaches I know I’ve continued my journey from last January and I have had a rough year in many aspects but stuck to working out the entire year. That’s something to be proud of.  Last Sunday I started taking progress pics in a lularoe dress that I have that is too small and shows all of my lumps and bumps. I will share them eventually when I see some changes. 😉

Tonight I am heading to my Aunts house to hang out with my cousins and aunts and make Christmas cookies and drink wine. I am so excited. She lives in Akron about 3 hours away. She has a beautiful home and is super fun!

I hope you all have a great Saturday. I am heading to Body Pump and Rockin’ to the Oldies this morning so I don’t have to feel as bad about my indulgences tonight. 😂

Hump Day

This week is seriously an eternity. But the good news is that it is 3/5 of the way over. 😂

And we have a two hour delay tomorrow morning. Woo hoo!!! It’s for wind chill. Many of our kiddos live in rural areas or the city and ride the bus. I guess it’s so they don’t have to stand out in the freezing cold.

I have resolved that morning workouts will resume after Christmas break. Even though I haven’t gotten up in the morning I am still getting workouts in, just not body pump. And I miss it terribly. But I know it’s just for the next few weeks and then I’ll be back to it. For now I am getting to the gym and/or working out at home.

I have been staying in my calories and this weekend I didn’t go completely off the rails. I am working on it every day. I am hoping over Christmas break to gather some recipes to try out next year. I also am gonna play around with Dave Ramsey’s budget software or updating my Mint. I really wanna focus on our budget in 2017. We’ve been too lax the last few months and it’s stressing me out. It’d be nice if I could make more money by doing nothing. 😂
Tonight I had a cuddle session with my baby love.

At one point he looked up and gave me a kiss of his own free will and I almost thought my heart was going to burst.

Ok, I’m going to bed and I’m pretty excited about the leisurely morning I get to have!!!

Beth WA
